Well as you can tell from my blog, I am a dolly collector, in particular Blythes! So I thought, there was no better time than to introduce the family...Here it goes! From oldest to newest...
1. Gwen. She was my first girl and is near and dear to my heart. I love her eyelids...I painted them when I first got her and opened up her head. It was scary to do my first custom on such an expensive doll, but I am fully happy with it now and I think it turned out nicely. I also painted her lips, changed her eyechips, carved her eye sockets, gave her new eyelashes and sand matted her face.
2. Eureka. This special girl was fully customized by me to mimic the characater Eureka from my favorite anime Eureka Seven. I know, I know, I am not big into anime AT ALL. I usually hate most of it, but I'm telling you, this is one incredible show. The storyline is so intricate and I have rarely felt so connected with fictional characters in my life. I cosplayed as Eureka last year at a convention and carried her around with me. :)
3. Sadie Jane or SJ for short. I got this girl for Christmas in 2009 and I just love her to pieces. She's my favorite girl of all and it's mainly because of her lush, soft mohair! She means the world to me! I spray matted her face, painted her lids black, added new eyechips, gave her eyeshadow, carved her lips, carved her nose, and painted her lips!
4. Alice. This poor girl has been in the works FOREVER, but she's still cute....even though her head and body aren't connected. I spent a lot of time customizing this girl and I am still trying to figure out a way to keep the body attached to her head....I got her in pieces and she is slowly coming together. Yes, I am a Twilight fan and have been for YEARS. Don't be hating :P
5. Sebastian. My husbie bought this guy for me for Christmas last year! He was a big surprise! It's nice having a boy doll too :P He is modeled after Sebastian from Black Butler. What a stud!
6. Finally, all the little baby dollies...there are too many of them, but here is a family group shot!
From the left, the itties are named: Sookie (after Sookie Stackhouse), Fran (after the Nanny), Mocha, Sephora, and Venice (named when I bought her in California the day we went to Venice beach).
Here is another shot with my family and my friend Kristy's family all together :) My puppy Marshmallow snuck in the shot as well.... ;)
P.S. You can check me out on Flickr under Othersescape! I post a lot of dolly pictures there and other fun stuff!
