I spotted this super sweet DIY over at Taza & Husband and I just HAD to try it myself! I had everything I needed already and an afternoon with a friend to sit and make one. Here's what you need...
- Old book that you can rip apart
- Wood Skewer or something similar
- Crazy Scissors
- Cardboard
- Pipe cleaner or some other ornament for the top
- Glue (optional)
Basically I just attached a skewer through a piece of cardboard for the base and began cutting squares starting with the largest for the base and smallest for the top. I am not sure how many squares altogether I cut, but I did about 5 or 6 of each size. I stacked them according to size and that's it. I made a little ornament for the top of the tree out of a pipe cleaner. I didn't need to glue it on, but if you use anything else for the top, you may need to use glue.
You can check out the original DIY HERE to see a more thorough explanation.
It looks perfect on the mantle this year!
I always put up all my holiday nesting dolls for Christmas. I have received them from different people over the years and they look so perfect on the mantle. Do you have any favorite decorations to put up every year?
Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!
It's so cute!! I love your mantle decorations ^^

so cute! I saw these at Anthropologie last season, but they were way to much money, and so easy to make yourself.

The tree looks so pretty! I love it. I didn't put up any of my usual decorations this year, but I think my favorites will end up being my new handmade ornaments :-D Great post!
