I am new to Asparagus. I never had it growing up because both my parents don't like it. I honestly don't mind it at all, though flavoring it up a bit is always plus. I also love turkey bacon. So anything turkey bacon flavored is just glorious. When I spotted this recipe from Kayotic Kitchen for Honey Glazed Chicken and Bacon Bites, I had to try it out myself. Instead of using regular bacon, I changed it up a bit using Turkey Bacon. Here's what I did....
I sliced up small pieces of chicken and wrapped each piece with a slice of bacon. I laid them all out in a glass pan and then brushed honey mustard over each piece and a little in the bottom of the pan.
For the asparagus, I decided to dress it up with parmesan, bread crumbs, garlic powder, salt and pepper. I broke off the ends of each asparagus and then dipped each piece in a small bowl of mixed egg and a 1/4 milk. After it was completely coverd in the milk/egg mixture, I dipped and coated each piece with a mixture of 1/4 cup parmesan, 1/4 cup bread crumbs, a dash of salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Lay each piece on a cookie sheet covered in tin foil. I baked both the chicken and the asparagus at 350. Asparagus took about 15 minutes as did the Chicken! You'll know it's done when the whole house smells like Cracker Barrel ;)
Nom nom nom. I made some rice to go with it and voila! Let me know if you decide to try this yourself. It was SUCH an easy and quick recipe.
I love that you said the whole house smelled like Cracker Barrell! haha Definitely giving this one a try!
