Last week, I made puppy chow for our Sunday night Bible Study costume party. I can't have regular chocolate so most of the time, I don't get to eat my beloved puppy chow. I decided to make a large batch for the party and then some for us to have throughout the week. Here's how I did it....
You will need:
14 cups of crispex
3/4 cups of creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup of butter
1 1/2 cups melting white chocolate
Powdered sugar
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
(makes 2 ziplock bags full)
Begin by melting peanut butter, butter and white chocolate in the microwave. Consistency should be thick. Just make sure the white chocolate is thoroughly melted as well as the butter.
Stir together and add vanilla extract.
Pour the mixture over a bowl of your dry crispex cereal. Stir carefully (try to avoid breaking cereal at all) evenly coating all of the cereal.
Fill a large ziplock bag with powdered sugar and slowly add the coated cereal mixture. Shut the bag and shake covering all of the cereal generously with powdered sugar. Amount of powdered sugar is based on personal preference, but you do not want your mixture to be sticky at all.
What's your favorite holiday time snack? I always make chex mix :)
Mmm. This looks delicious! Especially right now.
