I'll just be honest. I have zero idea what my "style" is. I wear what I wear and what I like to wear. Seriously, most days, I don't even care. But ever since I first discovered that I could put together my own outfits (at a very young age), I have just worn what I liked. That usually consisted of tons of teal, mint green, blues and blacks. I wear black a lot, though I have toned it down from my Amy Lee loving days of Freshman-Junior year. But really, I don't like stereotypes of any kind and I definitely don't like "keeping up with a trend".
I love fashion as much as the next girl and I love seeing new trends, some of which rock and some don't. I am trying to keep myself determined to never fall in a box. I just want to be me and one way I can show that is by dressing how I like. Whether one day that is a tutu and silk cotton candy-threw-up-all-over-me outfit or black skinny jeans and the closest clean t-shirt I can find in the morning. That's just me. And part of the reason I haven't shared outfits until fairly recently was just that...I don't keep up with the trends most often and I don't think what I wear is anything worth posting. But you know what, it's fun to dress up nice, and it's fun to try new things and honestly, I see why it's fun for so many girls. I get it. And after all of your unyielding poking and prodding that I need to do it more often, I am caving. Only occassionally though. I'm no fashion-ista, but I will share with you all from time to time. Plus when you have such awesome clothes to style, who could resist.....
I was pretty excited to be styling some new goodies from Blood is the new Black and Shlomit Ofir Jewelry Design which just so happen to match perfectly together. I will also be styling the jewelry in my next model collaboration (so excited!).
I felt like I was channeling my inner Kristen Stewart with the side knot and chucks...unintentionally done until we started pictures, but I really liked the way this top fit over the dress while tied. It's a loose fitting tank so I could have styled it multiple ways. Photos by my husbie :)
What do you think?
What I'm wearing:
Top: C/O of Blood is the new Black
Dress: Forever 21
Necklace: C/O of Shlomit Ofir Jewlery Design
Ring: C/O of Shlomit Ofir Jewelry Design
Glasses: Jason Wu via Ditto
Shoes: Converse All Stars
You look adorable, love the necklace! That tank skirt and cons combo looks awesome :)

I think you're rockin' it!
I totally agree about the fashion sentiment.. just wear what you like.. and forget the rest. Blog~world gets out of hand with all the fashion focus sometimes I think... it's 2" of our surface, we all go a lot deeper than that (hopefully!) lol
happy weekend V!

When I told one of my co-workers that I wanted buy teal converse to wear with one of my dresses, she laughed and said, "Converse with a dress?" It's so great to be yourself. I am not a huge trend person either. Sometimes when I go to a huge store like Forever 21, I think "Well, nothing I like right now. Guess I'll wait till the trends change again." I like to be comfortable, I like gym shoes, I like stripes and I love my Sea Shepherd tshirt. :) I can't affordable to buy expensive clothes for outfit posts all the time. I'm a Target and thrift store kinda of girl. You look beautiful by the way. Love the florals on you.

Thank you Jessie ^_^ I'm with you! I cannot afford anything fancy either! Converse work with everything. My bridesmaids wore converse at my wedding.

I agreeā¦the blogging world tends to get a little too fashionista for me. I always love bloggers that just wear whatever but not just what a company gave them or what the newest trend is. If I am going to wear clothes, it better be something I genuinely love :)

You look lovely, love the glasses! I don't feel like I'm 'trendy' either but I prefer outfit posts that aren't just the latest fashions and 'it' items.

I have a friend who is named violet by her parents when she was still young. She really looked violet then that is why she was called like that, violet.
