Normally, our bedroom is a HUGE mess, so don't let this post fool you. This was after I cleaned up all the clothes and vacuumed the floors.
I love our bedroom, mainly for the vaulted ceilings. It makes the room feel so big and spacious. I just love it, but it was kind of plain. The colors of the room are very neutral. I wanted something relaxing, but not girly in the slightest. I wanted my husband to be very comfortable in the room too! We painted the walls blue when we first moved in (per the husband's request), but other than that did no decorating. Our bed is very low to the ground with matching bed side tables that all remind me of Asia. Our curtains too have a bamboo-like quality to them and suit the room nicely. The floor lamp is a paper lantern style while our bed-side lights are also lanterns. So all in all, very relaxed Asia-inspired.
When we got married, my grandma gave me an old vanity that she had at the farm house that I always loved. I was literally THRILLED when she gave it to me. Such a nice addition to the room and the wood stain matches the rest of our furniture so perfectly. Though you can't see it, behind me was our dresser and TV that also matches the stain of the bed. Last is my "treasure chest". I found this gem at a garage sale for a whopping $1. It's been in my bedroom since I was in junior high...I seriously LOVE it.
Anyways, moving on. Everything in the room matched nicely, but because the walls are SO tall, the room felt emptied. So I began work on this wall hanging! The fabric was snagged from Ikea a long time ago, but I never got around to sewing up the side so we could hang it. This weekend, I got seriously motivated and finished it all in an hour. Grant hung it and that was it! Not too busy. No clashing colors. Just this basic Manga-Inspired tapestry (featuring the awesome Godzilla!). If you didn't know already, my husband is really big into Anime and I slowly have become into it as well. Not a huge fan of most Animes, but there are gems out there and this tapestry so suited us. We were both really excited about the end result. I feel like the room is finally completed.
Here is Marshmallow modeling off the bedroom before the tapestry was hung!
My huge (and this isn't all of it) perfume collection. Just my favorites ;)
I need to get a better organization system for my jewelry. It usually ends up just scattered around the room laying in different places all getting tangled. I've always been bad about that.
Have a great Tuesday everyone! Don't forget to enter.....
Marshmallow is sooo cute!! And that vanity is pretty amazing!

Gah, that Marshmallow, such a sweet ham for the cam. :)
Your room is gorgeous and that chest is suuuper charming. I can't believe what you paid for it! I don't think anyone has garage sales around here. When I'm in Texas they pop up everywhere, all the time. I have yet to see one since I've lived here. What a drag. Your perfume collection looks wonderful! And random, but I love your floor lamp. Did you get it at Target? We have a similar one but yours looks better.

We actually got it at Ikea :) I've seen a lot like it at Target though. It was SO cheap too!

What a move. Your fragrance selection looks wonderful! And unique, but I really like your light. Did you get it at Target? We have a identical one but yours looks better.
