Getting inspired by Stacy Dupree King's new blog Sucre, where I spotted this crown, I decided to make my own pipe cleaner crown as a photo prop. I thought it would work really well with a striking, but playful shoot this winter. Just trying to narrow down when I want to use it!
Want to make your own....
First, do a rough measurement of your own head to know how many pipe cleaners you will need for the "base" of the crown. It all depends on how long your pipe cleaners are, but I used 2 and a half, cut them down to size and twisted the ends together VERY tight.
Now, this is another point where you decide the height of your crown points. I wanted mine tall, dramatic and varying in size. You can keep all your points the same height, or change things up. Just play around with it. I used 1 1/2 for most of my points.
This part is pretty self explanatory. Just twist the ends of your points to the base!
Don't worry if it's not perfect. I think that's part of it's charm :)
Now, go play and create your own fun photoshoot with a thrifty royal flare!
Let me know if you guys try this! I would love to see YOUR results!
I love this DIY! Thanks for sharing! Happy weekend!

Adorable! & probably the simplest DIY ever. These would be so cute on a little girl's photo shoot! I need to make some for my 3 yr old niece :D

Oooh pretty!! I wanna make one to wear on my birthday! I can be a princess and stuff. ;)
I found your blog on Allison's (ShyScout) blog. I love it! For some reason, even though it shows on my dashboard that I'm following you, it doesn't show up on your blog page. As in, I don't see my little picture as one of your new followers. Hmmm. Maybe it'll pop up later?
Anywho, I look forward to becoming friends. :)
