I've been all about redecorating and updating little things around the house the past few months. And one thing that needs attention is the outside of the house. We repainted the front door blue recently, but there was still more to do. Nothing too extensive by any means, but just cosmetic things, gardening, weeding, washing the windows, etc. Our porch is fairly small...too small for a swing, but I wanted something in the little corner by the door to brighten it up!
I found this antique school desk in someone's trash on heavy garbage day (I wasn't exactly searching people's trash, more like keeping my eyes peeled as we drove by). I wasn't entirely sure what to do with it as the the lid was missing leaving the desk open constantly. So it sat in our garage for entirely too long collecting dust. I had lots of ideas for it, but I kept coming back to filling it with potted plants. So, I did!
My parents just moved into a new house and so my mom gave me one of her potted flowers that she didn't want to move and I snagged the mums at the store for a steal! It's not much, but it definitely brightens up the space and I just LOVE the look of this old desk. Even though it was broken, I was SO giddy when I found it! I would like to add something else to the space. Maybe a hanging potted plant above the desk. Any suggestions?
Hope your day is phenomenal. Tonight I will be photographing former Doctor Peter Davison of Doctor Who fame with his fans at the Who North America warehouse party! Very, very excited!!! I'll be sure to ask for a quick ride in the Tardis ;)
