Thanks to the awesome people at HalloweenCostumes.com, I get to be the supremely epic Edward Scissorhands for halloween! How fun is that?!? I was so excited when they contacted me as I have been brainstorming all month about what I would wear. I normally throw something together from goodwill or from my own closet, and that's always great, but sometimes, having a premade costume is just easier (especially for something as elaborate as Edward Scissorhands)!
It came with everything besides the shoes! Even that crazy awesome fro of a wig I'm wearing ;) I told my husband that I was all ready for a night out at the nearest Goth club (although I doubt we have any around here :P).
I was honestly really impressed with the quality of not only the wig, but the dress itself. If I had some excuse to goth it up for something, this would work again. Definitely not your average run-of-the-mill costume. The only thing I was slightly underwhelmed with were the scissors. Although they look good, they are made of styrofoam so they kind of flop around and don't look quite like the picture. Maybe a thin plastic would have worked better, but that may have been too heavy for the gloves. Still much better than what I would have made :O
I had a really hard time choosing my costume too as there were a TON of options in a lot of price ranges.... I almost picked the Furrie Frankie Monster Costume because of the colors and the fact that it was, well, a monster. And I love monsters. But I couldn't pass up Mr. Scissorhands. He's too awesome.
I'm looking forward to wearing this for our costume party on Sunday! Sorry to spoil the illusion for all my friends that will be there, but just so you know, this is what I'm wearing... ;)
