If only I were a carpenter, I could have done this in wood. Unfortunately, I am not that talented and scissors, glue and paint are my strong suits. I decided I wanted my little Marshmallow to have her own little home for cuddling at night. I've wanted get her those dumb little houses for indoor pets that are FAR too expensive, but I never have. This definitely will do for the time being...
Here's how I started:
Find a box that's tall, deep and wide enough for your little doggy to sit comfortably inside. Then find some scrap boxes to use for the roof and embellishments.
Once you have your big box, draw out the door way so you know where to cut.
The next hard part was just cutting the roof pieces to right size for the house. Once I had those pieces ready, I just taped them with duct tape from the inside so it wouldn't show.
Then I started painting! I knew I wanted a purple house. I got the basic painting done before I started cutting pieces for embellishment.
I let that house sit overnight before I glued the scallops on to the roof. I also waited to draw the scallops on the roof.
She seemed to enjoy it although I think it scared her at first. She wanted to have her body sticking way out so I pulled the blankey out further.
What do you think? I had fun doing this project. I hope she takes a liking to it. I can't wait to see her get in on her own without me coaxing her in with treats ;)
